Hello PN Band Families!

Phew, we have made it through the first couple of weeks! Most of the PNMB Updates have been shared via the BAND App, but there is enough information going on to justify a newsletter!

PNMB Updates:

We are excited for our first invitational at Jenison High School this Saturday, September 27th! This is our first MCBA (Michigan Competing Bands Association) event, meaning that there are a LOT of participating bands. Check out the full MCBA Schedule below!

For families taking their members home from Jenison, we will need a parent release, they will be available during Wednesday rehearsal to be signed in advance, or from chaperones directly @ Jension

Monday, 9/29

Full Company (Rehearsals are Monday/Wednesday, Full Company moving forward!)

Tuesday, 9/30,

Red Robin Dine & Donate, ALL DAY

Wednesday, 10/1

Full Company (Middle School Band Night Rehearsal, 6-7:30pm)

Friday, 10/3

WOODTV 8 Football Frenzy Tailgate, 5:45 AM (this is NOT a typo)

This is a super exciting opportunity to showcase Portage Northern! The event is a televised Pep Rally featuring the PNMB, Student Senate, Football Team, and much more. Planning is still underway, but here’s what you need to know for now:

We know it’s early and will be a long day—please use your best discretion.
Attire: PNMB undershirt (black) with your choice of bottoms (jeans, leggings, etc.).

Homecoming Football Game:

5:30 PM Call-Time to courtyard in Full Uniform

6pm Homecoming Parade!!

7pm Kick-Off

PN Concert Bands Update:

While a majority of our time has been spent on marching band music and materials, the Wind Ensemble has been preparing for their Fall Concert on October 16th with the NMS 7th & 8th Grade Bands!

Looking around, there are still students missing some required materials!
